It was Bette Midler's 69th birthday on Monday and the comedian reportedly revealed that her birthday wish is Ariana Grande to forgive her!
Just in case you have missed it, Midler recently claimed in an interview with The Telegraph that Grande, 21, doesn't need to "whore out" herself to make it in the music industry.
Midler shared with the outlet then: "It's terrible! It's always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch… looking so ridiculous." Bette added that her advice to Ariana and other females trying to succeed in the entertainment industry was "trust your talent. You don't have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don't."
Grande replied the next day by tweeting a shot of Midler in a skimpy outfit, noting: "Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judgement! Not sure where that Bette went but I want that sexy mermaid back!!!" Midler then admitted on twitter that Ariana "does have a beautiful voice, on a couch or off."
Now, the legendary singer and actress asks forgiveness from Grande and even let her direct a new music video. On Monday, Midler wrote on twitter: "Yes, it's my birthday! And my birthday wish is that @ArianaGrande me soon and let's me direct her next video…"
Grande, however, has not commented yet about Midler's apology.
